One Person Empire: Part 21 Day 3: Find One Painful Problem People Already Want Solved

Use buyer words before you choose the offer.

Sep 24, 2026
∙ Paid

I would rather see 20 blunt buyer phrases than a pretty offer document. The words people use when they are frustrated tell you what they may pay to fix.

Today, bring forward the work you finished yesterday. Keep it open beside this lesson. You will make one clear choice, save the proof, and hand the result to the next day.

A mild interest can earn likes and still earn no sales. Building around the wrong problem wastes the offer, lead magnet, sales page, and email work that follows.

This lesson gives you a problem bank, buyer-word sheet, interview script, pain scorecard, filled example, and AI sorting prompt. This research becomes the base for the rest of the 30-day build.

By the end of today, you will have one painful problem, 20 real buyer phrases, and a before-and-after result. This is Day 3 of the 30-Day One-Person Business Challenge.

The proof behind this

I made $100K in my first 27 days online with zero experience. I built a no-code SaaS that does $60K. My first digital product made $30K. I grew to 241K followers on Instagram and more than 100K readers on Substack.

Those receipts came from testing clear buyer problems, offers, and paths. Today's work gives the next choice a real base.

The Day 3 mistake that makes later work harder

A topic is not always a painful problem. Wedding planning is a topic. Missing vendor payment dates is a clear bad moment. AI can sort notes you collected. It cannot tell you that a buyer said something when no buyer did.

The rule is simple. Finish one clear job, save the proof, and carry only that result into tomorrow.

What this lesson hands you today

  • A plain finish line for Day 3.

  • Five exact steps with filled results and common mistakes.

  • A timed work plan for finishing the lesson today.

  • The three running businesses, shown with this day's choice.

  • A copy-and-paste AI prompt with a human check.

  • Two filled worksheets, one blank worksheet, fallbacks, and a final checklist.

The 30-Day One-Person Business Challenge

This is Day 3 of the 30-Day One-Person Business Challenge. The goal is simple: build one small business around a real problem, make the first offer, set up the path people use to buy, and start bringing the right people to it.

The 30 days follow four clear phases:

  • Days 1 to 7: Find the market and shape the offer. Pick a niche, choose your first channels, find one painful problem, study the market, choose the offer format, outline the smallest useful version, and plan the right lead magnet.

  • Days 8 to 14: Build the foundation. Choose a small tool stack, make the lead magnet, connect delivery, write the sales page, start the offer, write the email path, and wire the remaining handoffs.

  • Days 15 to 23: Finish it, test it, and get leads. Complete version one, test the buyer path, build a content system, and learn how to use short posts, communities, Pinterest, YouTube, and Substack to bring in the right people.

  • Days 24 to 30: Study what works, simplify it, and grow. Audit the full path, plan the right content, use AI and automation with judgment, build repeatable systems, add the next offer only when it fits, and choose the next test.

Every lesson has the same shape: the plain rule, the exact steps, a copy-and-paste prompt, a worksheet, a checklist, and three example businesses that run through the whole series. Read one a day and you are working the plan, not reading about it.

Direct access to me

Paid subscribers can DM me directly. Not a support inbox. Me. Stuck between two offers? Send me both. Not sure your one-page offer makes sense? Send it. I answer, and the best questions turn into future lessons.

I also run live mentorship calls where you can ask me anything with your real business on the table. Founding members get all of that plus my Instagram EDGE course, the one that normally sells for $397.

Send me your top three buyer phrases and the problem you picked. I will tell you if the pain sounds clear enough to build around.

Who this is for

Five kinds of people come to this series, and every lesson speaks to all five:

  • You have no idea what to sell. Start with complaints, failed fixes, and urgent moments. Day 4 shows what buyers already buy.

  • You have too many ideas. Score each idea by pain, frequency, spend, access, and fit. Day 4 checks the winner against the market.

  • You have a normal skill. Look for the hard moment your skill already fixes. Day 4 shows how other offers frame it.

  • You already have an audience but no offer. Mine comments, replies, and DMs. Day 4 turns that language into a clear market position.

  • You are burned out on a business that got too big. Find the smallest painful problem you can solve without rebuilding the old business. Day 4 helps you keep the offer simple.

The receipts are above, the price is $13 a month, and you can cancel anytime. Today's steps start the minute you open the paid section. I am building the next business in public, numbers included. Plan on about an hour a day. When you want a person instead of another PDF, DM me and come to the live calls.

Why now

Three honest reasons not to wait:

  1. Day 5 asks you to choose an offer format. Collect the buyer words now so you do not choose the format from a guess.

  2. The 30-day challenge is landing now, in order. Join now and you get every day as it drops, plus every lesson already out, plus DM access while I am deep in the same work on my own new business.

  3. The price. $13 a month gets you all of it. I said it when I launched the series and I will say it again: join before the price goes up. It will.

Coming next in One Person Empire

Day 4: Map Your Market Without Copying Your Competitors comes next. After that, Day 5: Pick the Best Format for Your First Offer.

Open the paid lesson, bring yesterday's finished work, and stop when the final checklist says done.
