Instagram Use Will 4X this Week. Here's how to take advantage...
How catapult your Instagram growth this week!
Instagram use (aka, people scrolling Instagram) will more than quadruple over the next few weeks.
Translation: this is the best time for Instagram growth & virality on Instagram.
BUT, only if you know how to properly take advantage of this screen-time uptick.
Here’s what you need to know:
People are relaxing, unwinding, and generally zoning out. People generally don’t want to think very hard. The content that is going to do well is “comfort content” (not content that makes people think or that feels like learning or work. Save that for 2025).
Highly shareable, relatable, easy-to-consume comfort content is what will win. This is things like memes, humor, relatable skits, cute animals, and anything that makes people want to share it with their bff.
BUT, if the posts that drive you growth and/or go viral aren’t related to your personal brand or small business niche, it won’t really do you much good.
Here’s how to find a magical balance of viral comfort content that will actually help your brand:
Take a few giant steps back to broaden your target audience and the solution / offering you provide.
Example 1: If your target audience is millennial toddler parents and the offering you provide is toddler sleep training, look for content that appeals to a much wider audience but encompasses this audience as well, like generic highly viral parenting memes (bonus if they are about parenting exhaustion or hilarious toddler antics).
Example 2: If your target audience is digital marketers / side hustlers who want to make more money online, try ultra viral content that generally relates to being broke or the plight of the small business owner wearing multiple hats.
What not to do? Stray completely away from your niche and target audience. Don’t post a viral video of a dog and bunny who are BFFs unless you can relate it back to your business somehow.
Final note: You should always stay “on-niche” in order for Instagram’s algorithm to have a confident understanding of your account so that you will be recommended to the right accounts. BUT, at times (like this week), broadening things can help.
I should also mention, that generally, Instagram has been trending towards this style content - so weaving a bit of this into your content strategy for 2025 is a good idea!
