There is one part of your week that goes wrong the same way every time. The report you write from memory on Sunday night. The meeting you walk into cold. The vet appointment where you cannot remember when the limp started. The bills you find out about the day they hit.
You already know which one it is. You have known for months.
The cost of leaving it alone is not dramatic. It is a slow leak. Twenty minutes here, a missed renewal there, a review where you could not remember what you actually did in March. None of it big enough to fix, all of it adding up.
By the end of this you will have one of those things handled by a saved specialist that does the job the same way every time. This article is a library, not a lesson. Forty skills, sorted by the part of life they cover, with the full instructions for the ones people reach for most. You are meant to raid it, take two, and close the tab.
Here is what you will be able to do:
Pick the two or three skills that would remove the most stress from your week.
Install a skill three different ways and know which way fits which job.
Set up a skill that keeps a running log, in the one place where logs survive.
Spot the promises in these skills that Claude cannot actually keep, and work around them.
Keep your health, money, and personal data out of places it should not go.
This is a long one. It is a reference, so save it and come back. Nobody reads a library front to back.
The proof behind this
Liz Elliott is not an engineer and never studied computer science. She runs 33 active social brands, and her main account @liz.on.the.web has 241,000 followers. That is only possible because the repeating parts of the work got written down once, saved, and re-run.
She also built four software products with AI help, runs an AI community called Uprise, and rebuilt a 403 guide archive into the 103 lesson course this article comes from. The whole operation runs on AI automations across several computers, and a library like this one is what that is made of.
What this lesson is
Lesson 8.6 of the free AI for Entrepreneurs course, in Module 8: Building Skills.
A skill is not a one-line prompt. It is a full instruction file that turns Claude into a specialist. It says when to use it, what inputs it needs, how to work, what rules to follow, and what to hand back.
This lesson is a library. Forty of them, sorted by the part of life they cover. Thirty come with the complete instructions, ready to copy. The other ten come with the setup list you fill in yourself.
You are not meant to build all forty. Nobody uses forty. Pick two.
Before you pick, there is one thing you have to understand, because almost every skill in this library quietly depends on it.
Claude does not remember between chats on its own. These skills say things like "keep a running log," "track this over time," "remind me in 30 days," "file this permanently." A plain chat cannot do that. Open a new chat tomorrow and yesterday is gone.
There are three ways to make the memory real, and picking the right one is most of the work:
A Claude Project. Each Project keeps its own space. Anything that builds up over weeks belongs in a Project. Health logs. Wins. Spending. Your closet. Your car.
An installed skill. Fires in any chat, anywhere, on its own. Best for skills that take fresh input every time and hand something back. Writing in your voice. Prepping a meeting. Planning a trip.
Both. Install the skill, then run it inside the Project that holds the history.
The second thing to know: Claude has no timer. Every "remind me 10 days before" or "every Friday, ask me" line in these instructions only happens when you open the chat. Nothing arrives on its own. If you want something to actually run on a schedule, that is scheduled tasks, and lesson 9.8 covers it.
Everything else here works exactly as written.
From Liz's playbook: Liz Elliott runs 33 active social brands. That is not possible by doing each job by hand every week. It is possible because the repeating parts got written down once, saved, and re-run.
