You ask the same chat to check its own work, and it tells you the work is fine.
It reads with the exact blind spots that made the mistake. It will also defend the choices it made, because the reasons are still sitting there in the conversation.
Twenty five minutes, and you will have a reviewer with a blank memory, plus five reviews to pick from based on what the work is for.
Beginners. If you do not use Claude Code, a brand new chat does the same job.
The proof behind this
Liz Elliott runs 33 active social brands and built four software products with AI help. Nothing ships from a single pass.
What this lesson is
Lesson 6.2 of the free AI for Entrepreneurs course, in Module 6: Trust And Safety.
You ask AI to write something, then you ask that same chat to check it. That does not work, and the reason is simple. The chat is reading its own work with the exact blind spots that made the mistake. If it misunderstood the goal or made a bad assumption, it makes the same assumption again while checking, and it defends the choices it made because the reasons are still sitting there in the conversation. It is proofreading your own email at midnight, where you read what you meant to write instead of what you wrote. The fix is a reviewer with a blank memory. Same model, brand new context, none of the back and forth. In Claude Code that reviewer is called a subagent, which is the same model doing one focused job in its own separate memory. Without Claude Code, a brand new chat with only the finished work pasted into it does the same thing. The clean memory is the whole trick, and everything else is picking which review you need.

What you will be able to do
Set up a second reviewer that has never seen the conversation that made the work.
Pick the right review out of five, based on what the work is for.
Run an audit on a spreadsheet, report, or proposal and get exact locations of each error.
Spot the two things this method still cannot catch.
Fix the top items and know the work is safer to send.
Your first step
Open a brand new chat. That is the whole first step, and it is the part that does the work. Paste in only the finished piece, with none of the conversation that made it, and ask for a review. A reviewer that cannot see the reasoning cannot inherit the mistake, and you will notice the difference on the first try.
