A second brain is one place where all your important information lives. Your files, your notes, your projects, your background. That sounds like an organizing project, and nobody needs a prettier folder system. What makes it worth doing is what happens when you point AI at it, because then it already knows where everything is and can reach all of it. There are three ways to build one, and all three are just files underneath, so pick one and stop comparing. Second brains do not fail because of the tool. They fail because people build the container and never fill it, and end up with a beautiful empty system they abandon by month two. So the rule is five real files on day one, before you touch folders or tags. Use your own material too, because everything a general AI knows came off the public web. Your notes and your past work are the part it does not have.
